FAQ - Heating

Doesn't the old rust/dirt cause blockages to valves when it starts to move?

It all comes out in very small particles which doesnt cause problems. In closed circuits a filter is required to take out the dirt.

How often do we have to check the filter, and is it difficult?

It depends how dirty the system is. The checking period is easy to find after couple of weeks of use. Cleaning is very simple and we give the instructions how to do it.

What are the operating costs?

Small units take about 40 Watts and the big ones about 100 Watts, so the cost is very small. Changing the filter is a little cost also if the other option is calling the service each time.

How can you ensure that it really works?

Possible water samples are done by independent laboratories to get a neutral result. In heating systems the gradually grown loss of efficiency will stop growing and the system will become working like it used to and was planned to. If the problem is a loss of pressure or temperature changes in e.g. showers, quite soon after the installation of Bauer water treatment the problems will disappear. Also the built up of lime scale will no longer exist. This can be easily seen.

How do you stop using chemicals in the system?

In many cases chemicals have seemed to be the combining factor for very high iron readings in water samples. Naturally high readings have caused a lot of problems and malfunctions and big repair costs. With using the Bauer water treatment the dissolving of metals in system will be minimized which ensures the system will function as planned.

Can we leave the chemicals in the system?

With Bauer water treatment no chemicals are needed. And the simple fact is that more clear is the water, the better is the heat transferring capacity of the water. So, the chemicals must be drained out from the system.

What if our water samples shows no problems?

The corrosion rate may then be little, but with mixed materials, lower temperatures and tighter dimensions of pipe sections have ended up the systems to be more vulnerable for even little dirt. In many cases the water samples have shown no problems, but the systems have not worked properly. After using Bauer water treatment the problems have disappeared.

Should it be installed in front or after the heat exchanger?

Always the best possible place to have Bauer installed is in front of the heat exchanger (in flow direction).

Where should the filter be installed?

The best way to have a filter is over the pump. In such installation the other maintaining valve of filter must be equipped with the flow control.
